Forces de l’art, forces dans l’art

Abstract

Starting from a reflection on Benjamin, Bergson and Greenberg, the article ques-tions the kind of contemplation we reserve for the art and, conversely, the power that is proper to the work of art. Through some key concepts of Nietzsche and Deleuze, art is presented as a promise connected to the belief in this world. In other words, the power of art is its power of justification: art is able to justify itself (and to justify us) as no other form of reality can.
